“Just to sit on our meditation cushion is not our only practice. How we treat money is also important. It is foolish to ignore how to survive here. To study Buddhism is to know what you are doing and how to survive.”
–Suzuki Roshi
Let’s spend three evenings looking at our relationship to money and finances through the lens of practice. How do we “stick” to this unwieldy commodity? How can we keep our serenity in the face of financial uncertainty? Where do we land on the continuum of: a poverty mentality … through attachment to the accumulation of wealth? In this class, we will study the ancient and contemporary teaching about money and investigate our own mind-states. Then, we can develop intentions for our individual circumstances.
