The Four Noble Truths are a description of what the Buddha woke up to under the bodhi tree. They are a framework for a Buddhist world-view and the foundation of all Buddhist teachings and practices. These truths or realizations relate to suffering, its origins, cessation and the path for liberation. This class will be an exploration of the context and meanings of this important teaching and how it applies to our lives here and now. Through readings, meditation and discussion we will deepen our understanding and appreciation for this compassionate gift that remains a touchstone on the path. This class is an entry level class but is also relevant for more experienced practitioners.
